From the Seller:
"I purchased this 1966 Pontiac convertible, Le Mans conversion to a GTO, in October, 1991, for my husband’s 40th birthday. He told me throughout our marriage that his dream car was a 1966 GTO convertible. So, about a year before his 40th birthday, I started looking for a 1966 GTO convertible. His 40th birthday came and went, and I didn’t find one. Finally, one and a half years after his birthday, I found this 1966 convertible GTO conversion from Le Mans car. The car was located in Friday Harbor, Washington. I asked my brother to fly me to Friday Harbor from Auburn, Washington. We met with the owner of the car and I decided to buy it. My brother flew back to Auburn, and I drove the car back to my mom’s house where I kept it until I could surprise him during a family dinner. Needless to say, he was very surprised! He named the car Lucille. We have now owned Lucille for 34 years. Lucille has been garaged during the entire time we have owned her. She is usually only driven in the summer when the sun is shining. Our children and then our grandchildren have enjoyed afternoon drives in Lucille. My husband is now 75 years old, has Parkinson’s, and can no longer drive. We decided it was time for Lucille to find another home with someone who can appreciate what a great car she is.
We have all the records of work that we have had completed on Lucille since we purchased her, along with the original Auto Trader magazine with the classified ad for her sale in 1991."
